With four days to go, the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut’s Executive Board pick Erick Russell for State Treasurer
New Haven - The Executive Board of the UPFFA voted to endorse Erick Russell, the Connecticut Democrats’ endorsed candidate for State Treasurer, along with Governor Ned Lamont and other statewide and legislative Democrats.
“I am grateful for the trust and support of the UPFFA leadership.” Russell said. “They represent what is best about our state, and are devoted to protecting and serving our residents. I recognize my obligation to live up to their support and to use every day in office to fight for our communities. This endorsement underscores what I’m hearing as I campaign in these final days - leaders across this state know that I will be ready on day one to grow our pension fund and improve our state’s financial position, allowing us to finance critical infrastructure at the lowest possible costs to taxpayers and strengthen our towns and cities. I look forward to standing with the UPFFA and making sure that we win this November and give every resident a chance at their own success story.”
This is the latest in a series of endorsements over this last week including Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, former Secretary of State Denise Merill, Unite Here Local 34, and the release of “Latinos for Russell" which brought leading Democrats together from across the state to support Erick, including former 2022 candidate for Secretary of State Hilda Santiago.
